Ezekiel 37:1-5

Every believer must know and understand that the breath of God is the
catalyst for the prophetic word which has the ability to give life and produce

This is clearly illustrated in the book of Ezekiel chapter 37 popularly known as
‘the valley of the dry bones.’

The logical mind cannot comprehend the power of the spoken word but the
apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:14 “…people who are not
spiritual cannot receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to
them and they cannot understand it, for only those who are spiritual can
understand spiritual things.”

Again Isaiah 55:8 says “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts…and my
ways are far beyond anything you can imagine says the Lord”
How can a mortal speak to dry bones and the Lord uses his words to create

No doubt Ezekiel whose name meant “God’s strength” had a relationship
with the all-knowing and all-powerful One because when the Lord instructed
him to speak a prophetic message to the bones saying breath will come into
you and you shall live again, the prophet obeyed and as a result, God caused
the bones to come together “…then muscles and flesh formed over the bones
and skin covered the bodies…” (V4-8)

The latter part of verse 8 states that although flesh had formed “…they still
had no breath in them”

So Ezekiel prophesied as the Lord commanded him “…come O breath, from
the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they may live again…and
breath came into their bodies. They all came to life and stood up on their
feet-a great army.”

Believers, bones are remains of any creature that once lived; it typifies death,
loss, degeneration but the Lord says whatever is dead in our lives shall live
again! There shall be restoration, the newness of life and a renewal of lost hope!

May the breath of God stir up the prophetic word declared over every dead
situation and cause life to spring forth!
