Acts 17:6

The Apostle Paul and his co-worker Silas travelled to a Greek city called Thessalonica, where they preached the gospel of Jesus Christ in one of its Jewish synagogues.

Some of the people believed and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, whilst others were enraged and sought to harm both men.

When the non-believing Jews could not apprehend Paul and Silas, they dragged Jason (their host) and some of the other believers to the city council; the mob proclaimed “…Paul and Silas have caused trouble all over the
world…and now they are here disturbing our city” Acts 17:6

How did these men turn their world upside down?

Paul who was affluent and well educated declared in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 “…my messages and my preachings were very plain, rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit; I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.”

Believers, we are on earth to make a difference and to rewrite history!

Winston Churchill a former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom once said “History will be kind to me for I intend to write it” In spite of his weaknesses, this man led Britain to victory during the Second
World War!

For those who believe and are serving the Lord Jesus Christ, 2 Timothy 2:3-4 tells us to

Endure suffering as good soldiers of Christ Jesus; soldiers do not get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.

We are called to put the devil to flight in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ who is the only hope for humanity.
Just like Paul and Silas, we are equipped to turn our world upside down through the awesome power of the Holy Ghost!

Be encouraged, in these perilous and uncertain times, while fear grips the world and men are cast down “…the people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits” Daniel 11:32

We are history makers and destiny changers!
